Virtualization Engineer (31810)

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Virtualization Engineer who has strong knowledge of Windows Server administration. Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot common guest and host issues
  • Monitor resources usage, making required adjustments for host/guest issues
  • Work on virtual machine creation, cloning, and configuration
  • Perform VMware cluster configuration and VMware Horizon maintenance and support
  • Maintain network security by managing host security, file permissions, file system integrity, and adding and deleting users
  • Perform Virtual Center administration and troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in all VMware and Microsoft technologies
  • Assist with user access and group policies configuration and deployment

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration
  • ESXi scripting experience and automation
  • Managing and implementing projects with Windows System Administrator and Active Directory
  • Experience with enterprise-level virtualization, designing, implementing, and maintaining VMware ESXi servers and clusters
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure experience
  • Strong knowledge of storage solutions and how to integrate them on the clusters
  • Skilled at networking integration into VMware ESXi and hand-on troubleshooting common problems
  • Knowledgeable in MS Windows Server 2012 and 2016, Windows 7 and Windows 10 Operating Systems
  • Experience with capacity planning, monitoring, and maintenance of VMware clusters with VMware Infrastructure/vSphere
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft RDS, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMTP, and TCP/IP networking
  • Strong communication skills
