They are looking for a Senior AIX Systems Engineer that has experience leading architecture, capacity, patching, upgrades, and escalated support of this system. Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership for our client’s AIX/VIO/Power Systems environment
- Research, plan, and implement upgrades or changes to the system
- Create architecture plans for hardware replacement and manage capacity
- Provide AIX support and guidance for SAP systems
- Handle Architect Power systems requirements for SAP systems
- Respond to escalations from the run and maintain team and monitoring of the system
- Plan and provide oversight of monthly maintenance windows
- Manage and maintain disaster recovery plans for AIX/VIO/Power Systems
- Provide AIX/VIO/Power support for the backup team
- Be the point of contact for vendors related to hardware replacement and maintenance
Requirements:
- 10-15 years of experience with IBM AIX operating system architecture, engineering, and administration
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
