Palmer Group has an exciting new opportunity that we are working on. We are looking for an experienced Database Engineer to join our client’s team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL databases. Apply today to be considered!


  • Ensure the performance, availability, and security of Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL databases
  • Act as lead DBA and lead all database upgrades and projects for Oracle and SQL
  • Develop sustainable and modern database technologies, on premises and in-cloud based
  • Control the database technologies used as well as create a future roadmap for all database technologies
  • Handle orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances
  • Work in tandem with the other teams in the information technology division, preparing documentations and specifications as needed
  • Train users on how to access the information in the database
  • Find and debug malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity


  • Familiar with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation
  • Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL
  • Programming languages and API expertise
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Linux-based database servers and Oracle and SQL databases
  • Experience with monitoring database capacity and performance
  • Stored procedures, functions, triggers and packages experience
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL server clusters and provisioning Microsoft SQL server instances
