Network Support Specialist (32335)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and support VPN, wired/wireless connectivity, routers, virtual servers, and phone systems
  • Provide technical support and respond to user requests via IT tickets, phone, email, and walk-ins
  • Setup and deploy desktop and laptop computers and related peripherals for on-site and remote employees
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure in a mid-sized to large organization across a large range of devices and cloud services
  • Administer a variety of systems
  • Work with hardware, software, and systems vendors to design and support network infrastructure
  • Communicate effectively with users across a wide range of issues
  • Identify opportunities for process, performance, reliability, and security improvements across the network
  • Provide Level 1 support for ERP/IBM i-series Power system
  • Recommend, configure, and manage laptops/desktops/peripherals across manufacturing, warehousing, office, and remote environments

Requirements:

  • Certifications such as A+, MCSA, MCSE, MCP, CCNA, or similar
  • Occasional travel with occasional overnight stays
  • Experience identifying and resolving issues
  • Understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and other commonly used business applications
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and client side architecture, software, networking concepts and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
  • Management of VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software
  • Experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix and Mac OS
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
