Responsibilities:
- Perform the lead role in the oversight, design, and implementation of data to ensure consistency, reliability, and efficiency
- Take technical ownership of data governance and data warehouse initiatives and advise on data modeling best practices for system design
- Lead the design, implementation, education, and support of our life insurance systems through an understanding of our technical solutions as well as our business processes
- Help the development team with coding, peer review, and proof of concepts
- Take the lead technical role in project proposals, justification, design, development, testing, and delivery phases
- Serve as the key liaison between technical and business areas
- Analyze and resolve complex business problems
- Analyze, evaluate, and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems
- Guide and direct development staff on technical matters and overall staff development
Requirements:
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Able to understand insurance applications and the data sources behind them
- Customer-focused mindset
- Knowledge of XML, SQL, C# required.
- Experience with ETL, data warehousing, data modeling, data governance, and data management activities
- Understanding of the inter-relationship between business and technology needs
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment, being results-oriented and adjusting to changing priorities
- Outstanding interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, system design, and communication skills
