Mike Fascian is a highly experienced and accomplished Sr. IT Security Manager with over 25 years of experience in the field. In his 21 years with Kemin Industries, he has a proven track record of success in developing and implementing security strategies, managing global security teams, and ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets. Mike is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). He is skilled in risk assessment, business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) planning, and incident response. Mike is committed to increasing cybersecurity awareness through strategic education and training wherever he can.
Jonathan Heinz is the Chief Information Officer at Metalcraft, a durable property identification company based in Mason City, IA. In his nearly two decades at Metalcraft, Jonathan has transformed the company culture into a security-first mindset. This includes leading the company through DFARS compliance and building a robust cybersecurity program. Jonathan is actively involved with the North Iowa Area Community College IT Advisory Committee and is a member of the City of Mason City Science and Technology Commission.
Doug Jacobson is the director of the Iowa State University Center for Cybersecurity Innovation and Outreach and a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is the lead PI in the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity sponsored ReCIPE coalition, which is focused on securing cyber-physical systems. Doug works with groups across the state on cybersecurity issues and tabletop exercises. Doug also created the Iowa Cyber Hub, which is dedicated to increasing the cyber workforce in Iowa. Doug has given over 300 presentations in the area of computer security. He also created the cybersecurity ambassador program targeted at the general public, K-12 students, post-secondary students, and employees.
Mike O’Donnell is the director of the Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS) at Iowa State University. After spending time in manufacturing industries around the world, Mike joined CIRAS in 2009. Mike led the CIRAS Manufacturing Extension Partnership program for the last ten years and was named the center’s director in June 2023.
