Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee

A diverse technology workforce is critical to the long-term success of Iowa’s technology industry. All Iowans deserve equal opportunities to participate in the innovation economy. TAI seeks to build a network of employers, educators, and mentors who actively advocate for a diverse technology workforce.

TAI’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee selects projects to educate and provide resources for member companies to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workforce (talent), workplace (engagement), and marketplace (community).

Access to talent is often the largest challenge facing Iowa’s technology industry. TAI has several initiatives and programs in place to build the talent pipeline from encouraging the next generation to pursue technology education to creatively transitioning incumbent workers to technology roles. TAI also partners with the state and communities throughout Iowa to execute robust campaigns recruiting talent to Iowa.

Public Policy Committee

TAI serves as the voice advocating for a technology-based, pro-growth, business-focused agenda. TAI is the leader in advocacy for technology-based companies and emerging technologies in Iowa.

TAI influences legislation and policies at the federal, state and local levels to impact the growth and sustainability of Iowa’s technology industry. TAI educates and informs policymakers on issues and challenges that are important to Iowa’s technology sectors

Peer-to-peer Networking

Industry Roundtables

TAI Roundtables are a free resource for all member company employees to participate in tech-related topics related to your specialty.

The innovation roundtable provides tech leaders, entrepreneurs, developers, and executives an opportunity to network and share business ideas. Previous roundtable topics have included blockchain and artificial intelligence.

The startup roundtable is designed to provide startup leaders and entrepreneurs with a discussion platform to network and share ideas. Previous roundtable topics have included statewide incentives and programs.

The marketing technology (MarTech) roundtable provides marketing directors, digital marketing specialists, and marketing leaders the opportunity to discuss ideas, successes, and learn from one another. Previous roundtable topics have included data generation and digital platforms.

Participation in the CIO, CISO, or CEO Roundtables is exclusively reserved for technology executives of TAI member organizations with these (or comparable) job titles.

The Legal Roundtable is designed exclusively for legal professionals in law firms or corporate counsel settings advising innovative companies regarding technology issues. The Roundtable’s goal is to help each attendee develop a broader set of skills to solve the unique problems faced in the industry.

The group will discuss various topics such as challenges and opportunities specific to their work and ideas and education for tackling common issues.

TAI Data Governance Roundtable is designed to facilitate discussion on shared perspectives on the data space including successes, challenges, strategy and more.
