
TAI Welcomes Four New Members to 2025 Board of Directors
DES MOINES, Iowa (February 19, 2025) – The Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) is pleased to announce the addition of four distinguished technology leaders to its 2025 Board of Directors:
- Dave Ashton, Chief Information Officer, Holmes Murphy
- Mark Chase, Vice President of Product Development, ClearanceJobs
- Ted Hughes, Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer, F&G Annuities & Life
- Brianne Schulte, Vice President – Strategy, Risk, Information Technology and Financial Planning, Vermeer Corporation

Dave Ashton
Chief Information Officer
Holmes Murphy
As a transformative leader with deep insights into the ever-evolving world of information technology, Chief Information Officer Dave Ashton plays a crucial role in propelling Holmes Murphy into the future. Dave strives to align our IT team’s capabilities with business needs through clear communication and strong collaborative relationships with leaders and employees.
Before joining Holmes Murphy in 2022, Dave spent nearly three decades with Principal Financial Group, serving as Head of Hong Kong for Principal International and Chief Executive for Principal Trust Company (Asia) Ltd. and Principal Insurance Company (Hong Kong) Ltd. Dave was actively involved with multiple areas of the business and held several leadership roles, including Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer of Principal International.
Dave earned a bachelor’s in Management Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Iowa, and he’s a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Associate, Customer Service (ACS). Beyond work, Dave enjoys traveling, attending live sporting events and concerts, and spending time with his wife, Ann, and their sons, Jacob, Tyler, and Nicholas.

Mark Chase
Vice President of Product Development

Mark Chase is a technology executive with a strong track record of leading operations and engineering teams, combining innovation and simplicity to drive organizational success. With expertise across all functions of IT, Mark leverages his technical, business, and leadership skills to inspire teams, optimize efficiency, and deliver enterprise value.
Currently, Mark serves as the Vice President of Product Development at ClearanceJobs.com, where he leads Product, Design, and Engineering teams in building a secure, trusted, and indispensable digital platform for customers.
Previously, Mark was the Vice President of Technology Operations at DHI Group, overseeing Product Operations, ClearanceJobs Engineering, End User Services, Platform Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, and Information Security. Throughout his career, he has consistently driven operational excellence, streamlined efficiency, and led large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
Mark’s foundation in technology began with 10 years of service in the United States Air Force, specializing in Ground Radio Communications, Engineering & Installation, and Combat Operations. He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Electronic Engineering.

Ted Hughes
Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
F&G Annuities & Life
Ted Hughes leads all information technology (IT) efforts for the company, including infrastructure, systems, solutions, security, architecture, artificial intelligence, data management and technical operations. Before coming to F&G in 2022, Ted served in several IT leadership roles within the insurance and financial services industries, including roles at American Equity Investments Life Insurance Company, Marsh & McLennan Companies and Fiserv Inc.

Vice President – Strategy, Risk, Information Technology and Financial Planning
Vermeer Corporation
Brianne Schulte is the Vice President of Strategy, Risk, Information Technology and Financial Planning at Vermeer Corporation, a global manufacturer that delivers a real impact on the way important work gets done through the manufacture of high-quality industrial and agricultural equipment backed by localized service and support.
In her current role, Brianne oversees the enterprise risk management portfolio, the internal audit team, the information technology team including digital products, the financial planning and analysis team, companywide planning and review through facilitation and design of quarterly business meetings, annual business planning and strategic plan development & execution.
Brianne received her B.A. Accounting and Executive MBA from the University of Iowa. She is also on the AEM finance committee, HAI Board, and the Pella Regional Hospital Board. She has served within civic and nonprofit organizations such as Iowa District 5A Judicial Nominating Committee, Bethany Christian Services and Pella Early Learning Center.
