TAI Announces Iowa Digital Infrastructure Summit: A Statewide Conversation on Technology, Infrastructure, and Iowa’s Future
DES MOINES, Iowa (July 16, 2026) — As Iowa’s data center conversation continues to grow in visibility, complexity, and public interest, the Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) will host the Iowa Digital Infrastructure Summit on Tuesday, September 29, at the Des Moines Heritage Center.
Following strong engagement at last year’s summit, this year’s event will expand the conversation with a broader platform for fact-based dialogue, shared insight, and cross-sector discussion about the infrastructure powering Iowa’s digital economy.
Data centers are no longer a niche technology issue. Across Iowa, communities and industry leaders are navigating complex questions about how digital infrastructure is developed, what it requires, and how it affects local economies, public resources, and long-term growth.
The Iowa Digital Infrastructure Summit is designed to bring those conversations together in one room. This year’s event will open with a State of Digital Infrastructure in Iowa keynote, providing context on Iowa’s current data center landscape, the forces driving digital demand, and the opportunities and challenges shaping what comes next. The summit will also include content focused on the economic, technical, plicy and community considerations tied to digital infrastructure development across the state.
“Digital infrastructure is now central to Iowa’s economic future, but the conversation around it has become increasingly complex,” said Brian Waller, President of the Technology Association of Iowa. “TAI’s role is to help bring leaders together around Iowa-specific facts, real outcomes, and informed dialogue. This summit is an opportunity to create a more productive, Iowa-focused conversation about how our state approaches growth, infrastructure, innovation, and the practical considerations that come with them.”
As the statewide association for Iowa’s technology industry, TAI provides a platform for informed, factual dialogue on issues shaping Iowa’s innovation economy. The Iowa Digital Infrastructure Summit will ground the conversation in Iowa-specific context, practical considerations, and constructive discussion about the questions, and opportunities tied to digital infrastructure development across the state.
