Robotic Process Automation Developer Summary

The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Developer will work under the direction of a senior developer and is responsible for support and development of RPA process initiatives that maximize process efficiencies. This individual will interface with business users, analysts, and senior developers to support the design and development of automation solutions using RPA technologies.

Robotic Process Automation Developer Responsibilities  

  • Design solutions utilizing RPA best practices and maintain technical responsibility for project delivery with senior developer oversight
  • Support implementation of RPA solutions (production support)
  • Collaborate with business users to complete user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Provide training and procedure documents for users as needed
  • Assure quality of the automation through unit and integration testing and participating in code review sessions
  • Design and develop simple to moderately complex multi-system robotic automations under the direction of a senior developer
  • Work directly with the end user community to understand requirements and data flows and articulate in a Process Definition Document (PDD)
  • Identify and document risks, challenges, and solutions in the Solution Design Document (SDD)
  • Design & develop a mechanism to monitor and report BOT performance and work across the domains to get the BOT utilization close to 100%
  • Monitor and investigate production support activities and communicate with the business user and technical teams for any issues
  • Ensure defects are accurately documented, escalated, and resolved in a timely manner
  • Adhere to the established VGM RPA standards to ensure compliance with contracts
  • Stay current on automation technologies and solutions
  • Ability to attain Automation Anywhere Advanced RPA Professional certification

Robotic Process Automation Developer Qualifications 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of IT experience, preferably with experience in Automation Anywhere
  • Experience with one or many coding languages such as C#, Python, ASP.Net, PL/SQL

Skills and competencies:

  • Understanding of Automation Anywhere, UiPath, or other RPA tools and technology
  • Broad technical and IT knowledge including programming languages, databases, and operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Mail Automation, multi-bot architecture, and queue management will set you apart

Physical Requirements:  

  • Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
  • Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
  • Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed
