IT Project Manager

Shive-Hattery’s technology team seeks a Project Manager with a background in managing a variety of technology projects, particularly in ERP systems, application development, and IT infrastructure initiatives. This role will focus on managing the request backlog, gathering business requirements, defining project scope, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within scope. Additionally, this person will be responsible for setting clear expectations with stakeholders and ensuring effective communication of updates and delays.

The IT Project Manager will work closely with technical teams and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions, as well as to ensure that all projects and initiatives are delivered in a structured and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the ERP system enhancement backlog, ensuring all project requests are properly documented, prioritized, and communicated.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather clear and actionable requirements for enhancements, projects, and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with system administrators and developers to define project scope, timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables. Provide accurate effort estimates, cost/benefit analysis, and define achievable timelines.
  • Establish clear communication channels with stakeholders, ensuring regular updates on project status, changes in scope, delays, and key milestones.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve internal project management processes, helping streamline workflows and enhance overall team productivity.
  • Proactively identify risks and obstacles that could impact project timelines or quality. Work with the team to mitigate risks and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure consistent and transparent communication within the IT team and with business stakeholders, keeping everyone informed of progress, challenges, and updates.
  • Track project progress, prepare status reports, and provide clear documentation on project performance, including post-project evaluations and lessons learned.
  • When applicable, collaborate with external vendors for system integrations or development work, ensuring deliverables meet expectations.
