Junior Software Developer

The junior software developer will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of our web applications and associated platforms. This role will collaborate closely with their peers on the product delivery team to translate project requirements into efficient and scalable code.

responsibilities

  • Develop professional server side software using Python.
  • Collaborate with designers and product team to build performant web components using Vue and Tailwind CS.
  • Write efficient queries, utilizing SQL effectively for data storage and retrieval.
  • Assist in building clean and efficient code that follows industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Assist in conducting thorough testing to identify and resolve bugs and performance issues; contribute to writing and maintaining unit tests.
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including API specifications, user guides, and development guidelines.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest development trends, frameworks, and tools. Identify opportunities to incorporate new technologies to improve our applications.

requirements

  • 0-3 years of experience as a software developer or relevant internship experience.
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of Vue 3 and CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS (or similar) is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Postgres, SQL and database management preferred.
  • Exposure to AWS is a plus.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Location: Remote. Must work in a location within the United States.

Travel: Up to 10%

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: Director, Product Delivery

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience

Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to: moving or handling (lifting, pushing, pulling and reaching overhead) office equipment and supplies weighing 1 to 25 lbs. unassisted.  Frequently required to sit for extended periods during the workday.  Manual dexterity and visual acuity required.  Must be able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person.
