**This position is eligible to work from home anywhere in the United States**

Collaborates with the team to deliver automated solutions that are scalable, reliable, highly available, secure, and resilient using emerging technologies. Writes programming code with assistance from the team to automate or monitor AWS functions. Helps create and maintain infrastructure and application build and deployment automation.

Partners with other engineers to design and implement platform solutions that enable our teams to deliver value faster. Works with systems and applications across multiple cloud providers. Helps support teams across the technology organization and assists with troubleshooting and improving complex systems. Participates in the research and development of new architectures as they arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Solution Development

  • Assists in developing automation tools and platform solutions as part of the software development life cycle for developer enablement.
  • Writes programming code with guidance and learns to anticipate potential impacts on other systems.
  • Helps create infrastructure and application build and deployment automation.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of initiatives.
  • Explores and learns about new cloud and automation technologies with assistance from the team.
  • Monitors resource use of programs, applications, and systems and collaborates with the Architecture team to understand potential solutions that increase resource efficiency.
  • Partners with IT teams to update legacy systems and processes to modern methods and technologies, while learning about automation per company standards.
  • Gains exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and the use of cloud services within the Release Engineering team and across the IT organization.

Support

  • Assists in troubleshooting, identifying errors, and correcting issues related to performance, functionality, and service for the platform solutions the team owns.
  • Makes improvements based on user feedback, provides training, and collaborates with other teams to resolve and complete service requests under supervision.
  • Provides internal consulting and ongoing support to customers and development teams, such as learning how to use platform tools and systems, or implement solutions.
  • Monitors system performance and errors and performs trend analysis with guidance.
  • Works on infrastructure and application deployments to cross-functional teams with supervision.
  • Works to grow technical expertise to improve the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Sophomore Status in college or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or management information systems, or equivalent relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The knowledge, skills, and abilities below are preferred but not required:

  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux
  • Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar programming skills
  • Knowledge of Git based source control and tools
  • Knowledge of debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis concepts
  • Thorough analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documentation and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse cross functional teams
  • Customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
