Palmer Group is partnering with a West Des Moines client to search for a System Support Administrator. This individual will assist the director with large-scale projects, including cloud migration, internet installation, phone installation, and various helpdesk tasks. Responsibilities:
-Proactively monitor the network, desktops, servers, phone, and services
-Assist in managing the company’s hardware and software assets, including inventory, licensing compliance, and warranties
-Implement, support, and responsible for daily operation including Windows servers, VMware servers, SAN, network infrastructure, and related systems
-Perform upgrades to firmware, hardware, and OS as required
-Provide support for incidents and requests
-Meet with company leaders, system owners, members of IT, and users to identify business requirements and goals
Requirements:
-BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree
-Highly motivated, innovative, self-directed individual who stays up to date with current trends
-Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills
-Able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
-Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
-Ability to communicate ideas to individuals at all levels of the operation
-Experience with desktop, server, and mobile operating systems, Virtualization, and Remote Access
-Experience with layered infrastructure security (firewalls, DMZ, monitoring, logging, alerts)
-Knowledge of SAN environments, including design, management, and maintenance of HA solutions in an enterprise data center
