Manual QA (31806)

Do you have experience working in a property and casualty environment? Our client located in Grinnell, Iowa is looking for a Manual QA to join their team on a contract basis. This position will be responsible for the development and execution of testing that delivers quality. The ideal candidate will have test engineering experience. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and define test scripts and test plans based on requirements
  • Demonstrate skills in Object-Oriented Programming languages and automation testing techniques
  • Refactor manual test cases to automated test scripts
  • Execute tests and analyze outcomes to ensure new and updated applications meet or exceed quality standards and user requirements before released
  • Recognize risks
  • Maximize testing coverage and reduce testing cycle time
  • Log, track, and verify resolution defects against requirement criteria
  • Evaluate data and metrics used to measure the SDLC and identify gaps
  • Contribute to product planning using Agile methodologies
  • Ensure stories are complete, accurate, and ready to be developed
  • Adhere to work intake, prioritization, change management, architecture governance, and other best practices

Requirements:

  • 2+ years test engineer experience
  • Able to effectively plan, schedule, and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies that apply to Agile and iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Understanding of all phases of software testing
  • Experience using testing tools for technical testing
  • Experience using automation tools, including scripting with an object-oriented language is preferred
  • Knowledge of common testing methods, tools, testing types, terminology, and industry practices
  • Strong problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills
