SQL Database Engineer (31353)

Responsibilities: 

  • Create and maintain all databases required for development, testing and production usage
  • Focus on project work that will include the optimization of SQL servers and migration of those databases to Azure
  • Provide support for multiple applications running Microsoft SQL servers (on prem and Azure)
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and level 3 technical support for end users
  • Performance tuning and optimization
  • Define and configure standards for SQL Server
  • Provide application development support
  • Consult and advise multiple internal business groups on high impact data or database management issues and influencing strategic direction
  • Participate in Database Management Team workstreams and lead technical projects

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience supporting SQL server on the Azure cloud platform including migration experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a Senior Database Engineering role
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL platforms preferably with clustered and replicated environments
  • Experience implementing and deploying applications to Azure Iaas/PaaS
  • Experience with Azure Resource Manager templates and how environments can be provisioned using infrastructure as code
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and building CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling and data relationship analysis
  • Knowledgeable of multiple database system platforms
  • Experience with security hardening, audit and compliance with relation to SOX, PII, GLP, GMP, GXP regulations
