Senior Systems Administrator

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, security, support and management of the LAN and VoIP network infrastructure, unified communications infrastructure, and security management infrastructure.  The Senior Systems Administrator will analyze existing infrastructure solutions, perform daily administration and make recommendations for enhancements which ensure the related systems are redundant, scalable, and resilient.

-Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software.
-Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of related infrastructure technologies.
-Lead projects with a goal to improve or expand the current infrastructure.
-Manage and administer security operation infrastructure.
-Design, deploy, and administer network and firewall solutions with focus on resiliency and security.
-Manage and administer UC infrastructure and its associated software, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, call management systems, voice/web/video conferencing systems, and mobile telephony.
-Audit infrastructure environment for potential security vulnerabilities.  Perform required maintenance to mitigate vulnerabilities.
-Provide advanced infrastructure troubleshooting support across all related technologies.
-Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure products and services in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that vendors adhere to contracted SLA’s.
-Provide capacity metrics to ensure future needs are met before issues arise.  Produce timely management status and operational reports.
-Maintain current system documentation and diagrams necessary for IT compliance and adherence to best practices.


Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related degree with 7 years systems administration work experience.


-Experience with copper cabling practices required, fiber experience desired.
-Intermediate level of experience supporting enterprise class IP networks LAN, WAN, VPN, Security, wireless technologies
-Working knowledge of Cisco IOS required, NX-OS desirable.
-Experience with network security systems and practices.
-Administer security operations including identity and access management, web application firewall, email security, and web security.
-Hands-on knowledge of PBX, voice mail, interactive voice services, call management systems, E-Mail, instant messaging, voice/web/video conferencing and mobile computing systems, including Microsoft O365.
-Knowledge of serial and serial over IP communication.
-Working knowledge of VMware.
-Familiarity with server provisioning and administration.
-Experience managing mobile devices, iOS & Android
-Familiarity with audio/visual concepts and equipment is desired.
-Knowledge of Crestron Technologies is a plus.
-Excellent customer service and communication skills.
-Experience managing vendors, projects.
-Ability to research, prepare, and present cost estimates, budget reports, capacity forecasting, and systems upgrade recommendations.
-Independent problem-solving skills.
-Experience in a technical support role; i.e. ticket handling, customer support, troubleshooting, etc.
