Product Manager

Overview

MobileDemand works with multiple ODMs/OEMs to bring 4 tiers of tablets, the most complete tablet offering in the industry, to the market to address almost every customers’ needs. Products come in as everything from OEM to fully custom to MobileDemand, however we typically bring in an 80% solution and then we design and add 20% to deliver a differentiated product with the highest productivity improvement. This includes vehicle docks, RAM, SSD, GPS, WWAN, Imager, MSR, finger print reader, cameras and 3D camera and other custom modules. We also provide RAM Mount components, power converters, and we design hand straps, cases and briefcase handles to round out the tablet portion of the solution to fit to each customers’ unique needs. We are a Microsoft Gold OEM so we purchase licenses from MS and build our own images for Windows 10 Pro, 10 Home using OA3.0 which allows us to have a MobileDemand Store and provide applications generating revenue. MobileDemand is agile and able to respond to customer needs.

Responsibilities

The Product Manager is responsible for the hardware and software performance of our products.

  • Product Management
    • Serve as primary product expert for assigned product lines including peripherals, accessories, software, service programs etc. Understanding technology and market trends and adoption dynamics.
  • Pre-Sales Systems Consulting & Support
    • Pre and post-sales support with sales personnel and partners to include assisting and setting expectations with demo units all the way through final install.
  • Technology Research and Product Requirements
    • Research and track core technologies for current and future tablets including processors, WiFi, BT, WWAN, RAM, SSD, OS, imagers, battery tech, and other minor subsystems to determine proper migration for enhancements and
      innovation for new products.
  • Product Development
    • Document specific requirements, work with the MD team and ODM on trade-offs, monitor development to ensure requirements conformance, and test EPR and PPR products to ensure requirements have been met or are documented and communicated for resolution.
  • Technical Support Assistance
    • Advisory and Guidance role for high level product and service support.

Required Skills and Experiences

  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or an associate’s degree with 4-8 years of experience.
  • Ability diagnose system level issues and track down the problem to determine a resolution or help the OEM/ODM determine a resolution.
  • Ability to do performance testing for benchmarks, battery life, WiFi, BT, WWAN, audio quality, and peripherals.
  • Ability to guide documenting processes and procedures for service and manufacturing with assistance from other individuals.
  • Extensive experience with mobile computers/tablets is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload with minimal direction.
  • Microsoft certified professional is a plus
