The Sr Systems Engineer, Web Operations designs, implements, starts up, shuts down, backs up, restores, secures, maintains, monitors, participates in performance tuning, disaster recovery, patching, capacity planning, and maintains accurate documentation and diagrams of the complex integrated consumer-facing infrastructure utilized by Meredith Corporation.
This position is responsible for supporting Meredith’s public-facing internet properties and employs systems engineering skills across multiple platforms (including on premise, co-located, and cloud-based hosting services).

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Three to five years of experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows web hosting systems integration and management in the corporate environment.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems and virtual server operating environments.
Advanced proficiency in the following:
Cloud Computing – AWS (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, CloudFormation, ECS, Beanstalk)
Server operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Windows)
Load balancing technologies (HAProxy, F5, AWS ELB/ALB)
Web servers (Apache, Nginx)
Web content management systems (Drupal, Wordpress)
Source code management/deploy tools (Git, Jenkins, GitHub, CircleCI)
Enterprise performance and event monitoring systems (NewRelic, Splunk)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching and other related networking technologies.
