Communications Specialist (website strategy & management)

Does working on and leading multiple creative marketing projects excite you? Do you thrive on collaboration? The College of Engineering communications and marketing office is taking applications for this newly created position to serve as a central resource working closely with stakeholders to create and manage multiple web pages and produce other design projects across many departments and units within the college. The position reports to the director of engineering communications and marketing with project assignment and management also provided by the senior graphic designer, and will collaborate closely with the eight-member college.

 

Primary responsibilities include:

Helps manage multiple websites within the College of Engineering including departments, units and centers.
Develops new page layouts/designs including custom features for unique communications needs; and maintains and updates existing pages.
Works closely with communications team and college stakeholders to make recommendations on keeping web content and design relevant while following university branding and digital accessibility guidelines.
Works directly with stakeholders (college and department leadership, faculty and staff), to assess their communication needs, make recommendations and implement projects to meet their goals. This may include developing new pages/sites within a CMS; changing and enhancing existing web pages; re-organizing and updating content structure; identifying solutions; and providing strategic and creative options for website improvements.
Additional responsibilities may include:

Assisting with graphic design for print and other projects.
Reviewing web content and assisting with content creation.
Helping with other creative marketing projects where skills can be utilized.
