Security Operations Engineer

As a Security Operations Engineer, you will oversee the design and development of the IT infrastructure and security standards. This involves designing, building and supporting Geonetric’s core security infrastructure and the accompanying information security processes.

You will predict possible network security breaches and execute and document techniques for detecting violations of security policies. Devising inventive solutions to foil the attempts of cybercriminals intent on stealing vital healthcare information is a must.

To be successful in this role, you must move Geonetric forward by planning, applying and maintaining the security measures, defenses, and counteractions to stop and avoid internal and external occurrences at the points of access to our networks, such as the Internet, VPN, and connections to other platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
While you might get to work on just about anything at Geonetric, you will primarily:

  • Establish and maintain appropriate security logging, event correlation and threat detection mechanisms.
  • Optimize our host-based defense tools, appliances, and endpoint products as well as general network and security administration and operations.
  • Perform threat analysis, forensics, and remediation in response to security incidents.
  • Research, recommend, and implement Microsoft Azure network and security features that best fit our services and products.
  • Manage the centralized patch and vulnerability management programs.
  • Manage anti-virus, security monitoring and incident response activities and tasks.
  • Manage and administer Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), firewalls, routers, and network switches.
  • Optimize our authentication platform and related security components such as multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Enhance our implementation of Azure Active Directory for optimal security.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or similar technical curriculum is required
  • 3 years of experience in an information security role
  • 3 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure
  • 1 year of experience securing cloud environments
  • Previous experience with scripting and automation is preferred
  • Previous healthcare experience is a plus
