Purpose:
This is a strategic role at Athene with significant visibility and growth potential. The leader in this role will drive technical experimentation with Generative AI across internal and external opportunities to identify, prioritize, implement and monitor use cases, help build a network of partner relationships and support the scaling of the technology at Athene, including coaching, vendor due diligence, and risk management.
Accountabilities:
- Experimentation:
- Help define experimentation pipeline and drive use case prioritization through technical feasibility evaluations
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional groups in a highly agile approach to understand, learn, iterate across opportunities and move select use cases to production
- Define mechanisms to inform model selection and performance monitoring
- Implements testing and monitoring frameworks pre- and post-production
- Works effectively with IT and ML Ops teams to move models / applications into production
- Drives alignment with risk management guidelines on data, architecture, and vendor best practices and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations related to AI and data privacy
- Manages implementations in partnership with professional services vendors
- Identify and mitigate risks related to AI project implementation
- Vendor & Partner Ecosystem:
- Supports evaluation of vendor capabilities across existing and new vendors to inform commercial agreements, partnerships and investments
- Change Management:
- Stay up to date on advancements (capabilities, solutions and best practices) and serve as technical Generative AI expert driving incorporation of these new practices into project development and delivery
- Proactive communicator focused on value creation and transformation
- Able to train others on approaches and best practices to support scaling of capabilities across the org
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of AI initiatives
- Willing to travel occasionally (<5%) and work in hybrid approach
Qualifications and Experience:
- (Ph.D. or M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Proven experience leading predictive analytics projects using large and complex datasets
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R and familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Comfort with professional software development, tools and agile methodologies
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Passionate about and willing to own hands-on Generative AI learning and experimentation at an agile pace, self-starter and driven learner and problem solver
- Proven ability to multitask between multiple projects in a dynamic business environment
- Proven ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with technical and non-technical staff
- Strong verbal and written communication, experience with PPT, comfort presenting and interfacing with executive audience
- Demonstrated experience in strategic and analytical leadership
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
