Help Desk Lead (Associate Business Systems Consultant 1)

The City of West Des Moines is recruiting for Junior Technician/Held Desk Lead role in our IT department – this role is internally named an Associate Business Systems Consultant 1.

Under general direction, this position coordinates activities related to the support, deployment, configuration, and usage of enterprise and departmental infrastructure and application related initiatives. This includes assisting in the selection and implementation of application and technology systems, business process improvements and procedural analysis, and the management of interfaces and system set up for technology related initiatives. This position may also manage technology vendor relationships on behalf of the City.

This position additionally will provide troubleshooting, resolution, and proactive risk management on related technical subject matter areas, including SharePoint, support of City entities, phone and network infrastructure, applications, and servers.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar technology related field preferred but not required.

Semi-proficient experience in one or more of the following functional areas: enterprise application support, server infrastructure and administration, network and telephony infrastructure administration, SharePoint, business analysis or enterprise-level workstation support and administration.

Exposure to relational database and operating systems with Microsoft SQL database, integration, and reporting solutions to be integrated with other enterprise applications (preferred).

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems preferred.
