IT Support Consultant

The City of Marion is seeking qualified applicants to become the next IT Support Consultant within the IT Department.

Marion is transitioning to technology-based systems and automated processes. Information Technology staff have a direct and significant impact on the quality of services provided to residents and visitors to Marion. This technology professional position provides the City’s diverse department needs as a key member of a small internal IT team. Internal IT works in conjunction with managed support services which all together make up the technology support model with a goal to sustain operations 24×7.

To be successful in the position, the employee must be able to independently install hardware and software adhering to operational standards while providing solutions with new and emerging technologies. The city has a large variety of complex applications and integrated systems and this position works with the end user primarily to ensure optimal end user uptime.

Procurement and setup of new equipment along with asset management and documentation are a key component of the job. Analyzing, troubleshooting, and working with the team to maintain operational support is crucial to this position while assisting with technology projects as the city continually expands our technology footprint. Project support for the City’s ongoing technology improvements is a great opportunity to gain experience and will keep the job challenging.
