Purpose:
Athene is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our fast-paced, innovative environment providing strong leadership for the Development and Automation team, with a focus on driving automation and shifting towards a software defined infrastructure through DevOps and Agile methodologies.
The successful candidate will provide technical guidance, providing stability, scalability, and enhanced delivery of support across Athene’s infrastructure footprint. This position will also serve as the senior developer and automation leader responsible for managing the technical needs across the automation portfolio with individual projects as well as implementing the vision and roadmap of Athene’s Infrastructure as Code objectives.
Accountabilities:
- Develop a coherent and secure infrastructure automation coding strategy.
- Deliver infrastructure technology services as code (IaC).
- Define and mature test automation framework(s), build infrastructure integration platform(s) and enable automation capabilities of our infrastructure stacks and services.
- Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapt quickly to new information, and re-prioritize as needed.
- Guide a team of Infrastructure Engineers and Software Developers in a 24 x 7 production environment.
- Leverage standardized tool sets to support automation of services/requests.
- Analyze history of repeatable service requests across all infrastructure technologies, prioritizing automation plan based on business value add.
- Develop operational processes that improve efficiencies and customer retention.
- Work with US and International Infrastructure Engineers to increase DevOps skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of experience in an enterprise developer role.
- 4+ years of experience leading developers or equivalent in a technical lead role responsible for delivery.
- Experience using Python, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Chocolatey, Flyway, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Demonstrated expertise in coding standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Experience with one or more public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
- Experience with ServiceNow Integrations
- Familiar with SDI (Software defined infrastructure).
- Experience with webservice based API integrations.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure hardware systems
