Software Test Engineer


4DMobile is seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer to craft and build test conditions and scripts to ensure software functions according to requirements. With strong knowledge of automation and testing, you will define and implement key performance indicators and metrics to provide insight on software quality throughout the development cycle.

The Software Test Engineer is a key position- your efforts will have an impact on both the company and the product. The role involves working closely with development, product management, and other team members. Successful candidates will have a passion for high-quality software, strong DevOps principles, and methodical problem-solving skills.


  • Design and implement software tests and tests environments.
  • Develop new tests and tools for mobile applications, cloud-based dashboard, and APIs.
  • Develop and analyze complex test data sets.
  • Configure automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in continuous integration and deployment environment.
  • Collaborate with product manager and development team to understand how existing and new features should be tested and develop automated and manual tests for these features.
  • Collaborate with developers to define and implement mechanisms to inject testing earlier into software development process.
  • Track and communicate automated test results in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identify, share, and nurture the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability in collaboration with the team.

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years of work-related experience in software testing.
  • Experience with initiating and executing unit testing, white box testing, black box testing, system testing, and performance testing.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration/deployment process and tools.
  • Working knowledge of software development and release tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus.
  • SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills enabling effective communication across the organization.
  • Critical thinking with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, with excellent time management and organizational skills.
