CYBERSECURITY TRACK

Taking the Punch: Building a 2026 Cyber-Resilience Playbook

APR. 7 / 9:45 AM - 10:45 AM / WORKSHOP

About

The cybersecurity landscape has undergone a fundamental shift. As “Agentic AI” automates multi-stage attacks and supply chain vulnerabilities become more sophisticated, the traditional “fortress” mentality is no longer sufficient. In this session, we’ll shift the conversation from simple prevention to Operational Resilience, the strategic ability to maintain core business functions and protect the bottom line even during a sustained breach.

We will introduce a comprehensive Resilience Roadmap designed specifically for the Iowa mid-market, including the insurance and healthcare industries, which store vast amounts of personal data, making them prime targets for cybercriminals. We’ll explore how to bridge the historical gap between technical Incident Response (IR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP), ensuring your C-Suite and IT teams are reading from the same playbook. Attendees will learn how to identify their “Crown Jewels,” implement harm area reduction through Zero Trust architecture, and adopt the Mean Time to Recover (MTTR) metric as the ultimate KPI for security success.

The session concludes with an interactive, 15-minute “Lightning Tabletop” simulation that will challenge attendees to navigate a live security incident scenario, forcing real-time decisions on containment, regulatory disclosure, and disaster recovery. Participants will leave with a practical framework to transform their security posture from a defensive cost center into a resilient competitive advantage that reassures partners and insurers alike.

Takeaways

  1. The Resilience Roadmap: A step-by-step guide to merging Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Incident Response (IR

  2. Metrics that Matter: Moving from “number of blocks” to “Mean Time to Recover” (MTTR).

  3. The 2026 Insurance Playbook: What underwriters are now demanding from Iowa firms.
