Drive Business Success with Dimensional Modeling on Microsoft Fabric
DATA TRACK / WORKSHOP + SIMULATION

ROOM 302-303 / APR. 8 / 2:40 PM - 3:30 PM
About this session

Dimensional data modeling is critical for enabling the timely and accurate business analytics leaders desire, yet those same leaders fail to invest in the foundation to achieve it. In this session, you’ll see how dimensional data modeling brings value to the entire organization, why it’s hard to implement, and how solutions like Microsoft Fabric can make it easier.

Stalcup will demonstrate how he delivered transformational outcomes for two national companies and how those lessons can help you finally gain momentum for your data journey. This session will start with some data modeling techniques with examples. Then, you’ll also see how he leverages Dataflow Gen 2, Semantic models, Lakehouses, Database templates, and Aggregation tables in Fabric.

You’ll leave with practical tips that enable you to demonstrate to your organization how an investment in data modeling improves your company’s data integrity, performance, and reporting. You’ll also be prepared to position yourself for the future by setting the foundation for AI-powered solutions and managed self-service.

Key takeaways

1. Leave with practical skills to start dimensional data modeling.

2. Increase performance and trust in your data.

3. Position your business for self-service BI and AI.

4. Tips to create buy-in with your leadership.
