The Heartland GreenUp features four premiere tracks, and each track will offer three separate timely presentations.
Track #1: Green Computing
The emergence of cloud computing and the momentum of virtualization technology has spawned a green IT revolution, with companies and governments of all shapes and sizes adopting these types of technologies to reduce their operating costs and carbon footprints while maximizing their networks. Sessions under this track will address how various "Green" technologies are helping reduce power consumption while improving operational and/or service performance of the network.
Track #2: Renewable energy solutions
This track will explore the technologies behind current and future energy solutions that will power America and help eliminate its need for foreign oil. Without the use of technology, renewable energy solutions such as wind and solar would not be able to compete against foreign oil. Sessions will explore these technologies are and how will they help reshape America's energy dynamics.
Track #3: Public and private green IT initiatives
Billions of dollars are being allocated, specifically here in the U.S., to help multiple industries, including state and local governments improve their infrastructure with the aid of green IT solutions. Speaking sessions will address how and why the public and private sectors are allocating their resources for green IT initiatives that will not only benefit their internal organizations but also their customer and/or end user.
Track #4: 20/20: Technology's future impact on society in 2020
Sessions in this track will underscore how technology will impact all our lives in 2020. What will we gain and lose as a society with the invention of new technologies and how will we be able to accommodate the power needs that are required to keep up with society's thirst for more and better technologies? These are just some of the topics that will be addressed under this track.
