HyperStream – The Tech Hub for Iowa Students
TAI’s signature program partners member companies with local area school districts to increase the awareness of tech-related careers and engage students and educators through public/private partnerships. Involves HyperStream clubs, job shadowing, presentations, internships, mentoring and more. TAI provides a wealth of resources and support, including the program’s three Web sites for students, educators and parents.
TAI Prometheus Awards
The Oscars of Iowa's high tech industry, this event brings leaders from technology, business, education and government together to recognize the year's technology achievements and to celebrate Iowa innovation. Award finalists and recipients – the best and brightest of Iowa’s diverse tech-based economy – are recognized at this Awards Gala.
Iowa Women of Innovation
TAI’s annual awards dinner recognizes and celebrates women in Iowa who are innovators, role models and leaders in technology, science and engineering. This event is also designed to encourage young women to pursue technology-related careers, by
engaging high school and college age women, as well as entrepreneurs and leaders in business and academia.
TAI's TechBrew Events: Entreprenurial Mixers
Each month TAI hosts its TechBrew events in communities across Iowa. These informal gatherings bring entrepreneurs, technologists, business people and funders together to talk over a beer (aka “Lubricated Serendipity”).
The Heartland GreenUp Symposium and Expo
The Heartland GreenUp takes the sustainability conversation from the coasts to America’s heartland. The conference features prominent national and local experts from the public and private sectors and brings new ideas to industry leaders in Midwest while providing the opportunity to learn from the people behind them. A virtual component connects real-world and virtual events so that people from around the country and globe can join-in.
Pitch Sessions
TAI Pitch & Grow events are presented throughout the year, and offer entrepreneurs a forum to pitch to a supportive group of peer CEOs, CIOs, business development experts, industry professionals and street smart people. Each session provided a unique opportunity to receive constructive feedback on areas such as fundraising, value proposition, business plan, management team, sales/marketing/support, and building strategy.
Stumping for Technology Campaign
Meet area State Legislators as TAI works with its members to host a series of tech sector roundtables around the state. These meetings facilitate discussion and raise awareness of tech industry trends. They also provide members with a valuable opportunity to learn about the year’s legislative strategy and share information with lawmakers on the challenges and opportunities their business faces.
Public Policy Program
TAI’s Government Affairs Committee includes a lobbyist and interested individuals from TAI member companies. This group of engaged TAI members crafts our annual Legislative Agenda and aids TAI on grassroots policy efforts. It also plans special events with key State Legislators and sponsors.
Legislative eReport
Distributed weekly during the legislative session, the Legislative eReport provides you with the status of policy issues impacting Iowa’s technology industry and updates on other policy developments from Capitol Hill.
Legislative Reception
TAI’s popular annual gathering during session brings members of the Iowa State Legislature together with members of TAI. This event provides an opportunity for member companies to share information with policy makers and discuss timely issues important to them and the technology industry.
Annual Membership Survey
As a member-driven organization, TAI conducts a comprehensive survey once a year to track company workforce data, assess our performance and to set the strategic direction for the next year. Survey results are summarized on our Web site and in our e-newsletter.
